Denise Yasinko Memorial Scholarship

In 2020 the Alberta cubing community quietly lost one of their biggest supporters with the passing of Denise Yasinko. Denise was known for her limitless energy and sense of fun. She worked tirelessly to bring speedcubing to Calgary and in just four short years hosted the largest competition in Alberta to date, unveiled the world’s largest cube at the Telus Spark, and managed to convince organizers to host Nationals in Calgary, this was the first time they were ever held outside of Toronto. Without the efforts of Denise our first competition would not have been possible. With the support of her family, especially her son Ryan, we wanted to pay tribute to her legacy by establishing this scholarship fund.
